PARAMETRIC DESIGN AND 3D PRINTING
SYNAPSES is a collection of 3D printed parametric jewellery based on the exploration of of shapes and geometries through generative algorithms. The fascinating myriad of possibilities produced from an original starting point is what IMPERFECTDOT is all about. The SYNAPSES COLLECTION’s pieces are randomly generated, recalling the connection and tensions between original points and the shapes and tangles they can create.
This bowtie reinvents a traditional element of men’s style with a modern parametric design. A geometric texture is given to the original model, then 3D printed. It can be customised modifying patterns, geometries, shapes and adding one or more points of attraction.
The natural-mathematical morphology is at the basis of this design. Through the parametrical technique voronoi, an original diagram can be transformed into different variations of the voronoical tessellation, thus creating an infinite varieties of results. The purpose is to create a “mother pattern” adaptable to a variety of objects, shapes and sizes.
Inspired by the geometric cracked earth pattern of the desert. Through the parametrical technique voronoi, an original diagram can be transformed into different variations of the voronoical tessellation, thus creating an infinite varieties of results. In this case the voronoical cells are extruded, creating the surface’s crack.
Rather than a realistic actual object, the low poly techniques aims to reduce the scene complexity using a limited number of polygons. The modern low-poly aesthetic tends to disrupt the old realistic standards focusing more on form, lighting and materials. This bracelet is inspired by the low-poly unreality through its sharp edges and geometric modeling.
